Nimonic90 high temperature alloy bar banner

Nimonic90 high temperature alloy bar is a high-performance nickel-based superalloy renowned for its excellent resistance to high temperatures and corrosion. Primarily composed of nickel, chromium, and cobalt, Nimonic90 is designed to withstand extreme conditions, making it ideal for applications requiring both high strength and stability at elevated temperatures. The alloy offers impressive mechanical properties, including high tensile strength and excellent oxidation resistance, making it a go-to material for industries such as aerospace, power generation, and petrochemical.

The alloy is particularly well-suited for use in environments where high thermal stability and resistance to stress and corrosion are required. It maintains its structural integrity at temperatures exceeding 1000°C, and performs exceptionally well in both reducing and oxidizing environments, offering robust durability in the most demanding industrial applications.

Key Properties

  • High-Temperature Resistance: Nimonic90 maintains strength and stability in high-temperature environments, typically up to 1000°C.

  • Corrosion Resistance: The alloy exhibits excellent resistance to oxidation, making it ideal for use in harsh, corrosive environments.

  • Tensile Strength: Offers high tensile strength, ensuring the alloy maintains integrity under stress at elevated temperatures.

  • Fatigue and Creep Resistance: Resists fatigue and deformation over prolonged periods of high-stress exposure, making it highly durable.

  • Weldability and Machinability: Nimonic90 can be welded and machined with appropriate techniques, allowing for precise fabrication into complex parts.

Nimonic90 high temperature alloy bar application field

Manufacturing Process

  1. Melting: High-purity raw materials are melted in an electric arc or induction furnace to achieve the desired chemical composition.

  2. Casting: The molten alloy is cast into ingots, which undergo homogenization heat treatment to enhance uniformity and eliminate segregation.

  3. Forging: The ingots are then hot-forged at temperatures above 1100°C to achieve the desired shape and improve mechanical properties.

  4. Hot Rolling: The alloy is hot-rolled to reduce thickness and achieve precise dimensions while enhancing directional properties.

  5. Annealing: To relieve internal stresses and improve ductility, the bars are annealed at temperatures around 900-950°C.

  6. Finishing: Final machining, cutting, and surface treatments are applied to prepare the rods for their intended applications.
