Applications

Oil and Gas Extraction

Incoloy 925 is highly suitable for downhole tools, particularly in sour wells where H₂S concentrations exceed 5% and CO₂ partial pressure surpasses 10 MPa. Additionally, it is used in subsea Christmas tree valves, which are designed for a service life of over 30 years in seawater and hydrogen sulfide environments.

Chemical Processing

Advanced Manufacturing Techniques

Triple Melt Process

Incoloy 925 undergoes an advanced Triple Melt Process, combining VIM, ESR, and VAR refining techniques to achieve ultra-low impurity levels. This ensures high purity, reducing non-metallic inclusions to a minimum (≤0.5% area fraction) and improving overall material performance.

Precision Rolling & Surface Treatment

The material is cryogenically rolled at -50°C, which increases dislocation density and results in nano-twinned structures for enhanced strength. Surface treatments include electropolishing (Ra ≤0.1 μm) and HVOF-sprayed WC-10Co-4Cr coatings for additional protection in aggressive environments.

Heat Treatment

Incoloy 925’s heat treatment process includes two-stage aging (720°C/8h and 620°C/8h), optimizing the formation of γ' (Ni₃(Ti,Al)) precipitates for better strength and durability under high-temperature conditions.
