Superior Creep Resistance: With a high carbon content and a controlled aluminum/titanium ratio, Incoloy 800HT wire is optimized to resist time-dependent deformation at elevated temperatures (600-900°C).
Oxidation & Carburization Resistance: The alloy forms a dual-layer oxide (Cr₂O₃-Al₂O₃) that prevents scaling and carbon ingress, even in hydrocarbon-rich environments.
Phase Stability: Incoloy 800HT retains its austenitic structure even after prolonged thermal exposure, preventing detrimental sigma-phase embrittlement.
High Mechanical Strength: The tensile strength of 550-750 MPa at 800°C, coupled with a long creep rupture life of over 10,000 hours at 700°C/100 MPa, ensures reliability under stress.
Thermal Fatigue Resistance: The alloy’s low coefficient of thermal expansion reduces stress during cyclic heating, making it highly resistant to thermal fatigue.
