Neutron Damage Tolerance: With a He/dpa ratio <10 appm/0.1 dpa at 650°C (14 MeV neutrons), Incoloy 800HT exhibits exceptional resistance to neutron damage, making it ideal for nuclear fusion and space applications.
Plasma Erosion Resistance: The alloy’s sputtering yield is reduced by 60% compared to 316L in deuterium plasma, providing excellent resistance to plasma erosion in fusion reactors.
Helium Embrittlement Resistance: Nano-oxide dispersion technology traps helium bubbles, maintaining more than 15% elongation post-irradiation, crucial for long-term service in neutron-rich environments.
Thermal Shock Stability: Incoloy 800HT withstands 500 cycles of 200°C/s heating/cooling rates without cracking, ensuring reliable performance in extreme thermal conditions.
