What is the Incoloy 800 wire?

Incoloy 800 wire is a versatile nickel-iron-chromium superalloy that conforms to various industry standards, including ASTM B408, ASTM B409, AMS 5766, and DIN 2.4858. It is available in multiple forms such as round wire, flat wire, spooled wire, and custom profiles, with a diameter range from 0.1 mm to 12.7 mm, and can be customized upon request. The wire features a bright annealed, pickled, or polished surface finish, depending on your requirements. It is designed for use in extreme temperatures, with an operating range of -200°C to 800°C, while delivering optimal performance in the range of 540–760°C. Incoloy 800 wire is also certified for sour service environments, meeting the standards of NACE MR-0175.

Mechanical Strength:With a typical tensile strength of 500-700 MPa in the annealed condition and an elongation exceeding 30%, Incoloy 800 wire provides both durability and flexibility, allowing it to be easily fabricated and used in various applications.

Fabrication Flexibility:This wire is easily cold-worked, welded (TIG, MIG), and machined using standard tooling, offering excellent versatility in fabrication.

Thermal Cycling Resistance:With a low coefficient of thermal expansion (14.4 μm/m·°C at 20–100°C), Incoloy 800 wire minimizes distortion under cyclic heating, ensuring its structural integrity over time.

Solid Solution Strengthening:The high nickel content stabilizes the FCC austenitic matrix, enhancing ductility and fracture toughness, making Incoloy 800 wire resistant to cracking under stress.
