High Temperature Alloy Bar Rod Nimonic 80A is a high-performance nickel-based superalloy product widely used in extreme temperature environments. It is also known as Nimonic 80A Bar, UNS N07080 Rod, or Alloy 80A Round Bar. Made primarily of nickel and chromium with controlled additions of titanium and aluminum, Nimonic 80A offers outstanding strength, excellent oxidation resistance, and superior creep resistance at elevated temperatures. The product typically appears in a bright metallic silver color, with smooth surfaces. Common sizes range from 8mm to 150mm in diameter, and custom sizes can be produced upon request. It is manufactured according to standards such as ASTM B637 and AMS 5829.

Technology
Nimonic 80A bar rods are manufactured through vacuum induction melting (VIM) followed by vacuum arc remelting (VAR) to achieve high purity and uniform microstructure. Advanced forging and heat treatment processes are employed to optimize mechanical properties such as strength and creep resistance. Final machining and surface finishing processes ensure excellent dimensional accuracy, a smooth surface, and superior performance in demanding applications.
Theory
Nimonic 80A functions based on the principle of precipitation strengthening. During heat treatment, the controlled amounts of titanium and aluminum form gamma prime (γ') precipitates in the nickel matrix, significantly enhancing high-temperature strength. The chromium content provides oxidation and corrosion resistance, while the nickel base ensures stability under thermal cycling. This combination of mechanisms makes Nimonic 80A ideal for use in aggressive, high-stress environments.
