Incoloy Alloy Strip
Product Details
Incoloy 825 Strip Alloy – High Strength and Superior Corrosion Resistance
Incoloy 825 strip is a high-performance nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, and titanium. Engineered for excellent corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing environments, this precision strip is widely used in chemical processing, pollution control, marine, and nuclear applications.
Key Features of Incoloy 825 Strip
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Outstanding resistance to acids such as sulfuric, phosphoric, and nitric, and exceptional protection against chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking.
High Mechanical Strength: Maintains high strength and stability even under harsh service environments.
Good Fabricability: The alloy can be easily cold-formed and welded using standard procedures.
Thermal Stability: Performs effectively in temperatures up to 540°C (1000°F), with good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
Oxidation Resistance: Offers excellent resistance to oxidation in air and inert gas atmospheres.
Typical Applications
Chemical Processing Equipment: Heat exchangers, evaporators, tanks, and process piping systems.
Marine Engineering: Components exposed to seawater and brine environments.
Pollution Control Systems: Scrubbers and reactors for environmental and waste treatment.
Oil & Gas Industry: Downhole tubing and subsea components.
Nuclear Fuel Reprocessing: Due to its excellent resistance to nitric acid and high radiation tolerance.
Technical Principle
The corrosion resistance of Incoloy 825 stems from its balanced chemical composition. Chromium provides resistance to oxidizing conditions, while molybdenum and copper improve performance in reducing environments. Titanium is added to stabilize the alloy against intergranular corrosion after fabrication.
