Incoloy 825 Alloy Plate Sulfuric Acid Resistant Sheets for Chemical Processing & FGD Systems

Product Details

Incoloy 825 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy plate engineered for extreme corrosion resistance, particularly in sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and other aggressive chemical environments. With its exceptional durability, heat resistance, and fabricability, Incoloy 825 plates are widely used in chemical processing plants, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems, and offshore oil & gas applications.

This alloy is an ideal alternative to stainless steel (e.g., 316L) where higher corrosion resistance and strength are required, making it a preferred material for critical industrial components.

Key Properties of Incoloy 825 Alloy Plate

✔ Superior Corrosion Resistance

Excellent resistance to sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), phosphoric acid (H₃PO₄), and chloride solutions

Performs well in both oxidizing and reducing environments

Resists pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC)

✔ High-Temperature Stability

Maintains strength and corrosion resistance up to 540°C (1000°F)

Good oxidation resistance in continuous high-heat applications

✔ Mechanical Strength & Fabricability

Tensile Strength: ≥586 MPa (85 ksi)

Yield Strength: ≥241 MPa (35 ksi)

Elongation: ≥30% (excellent formability)

Weldability: Can be welded using TIG, MIG, and SMAW methods

✔ Cost-Effective Alternative to Nickel Alloys

More affordable than Hastelloy & Inconel while offering similar corrosion resistance in many applications

Typical Composition (wt%):

Nickel (Ni): 38-46% (base)

Chromium (Cr): 19.5-23.5% (corrosion resistance)

Iron (Fe): ≥22%

Molybdenum (Mo): 2.5-3.5% (enhances chloride resistance)

Copper (Cu): 1.5-3.0% (improves sulfuric acid resistance)

Titanium (Ti): 0.6-1.2% (stabilizes against sensitization)

Primary Applications of Incoloy 825 Plates

1. Chemical Processing Industry

Incoloy 825 is widely used in:

Sulfuric acid production plants (pickling tanks, heat exchangers)

Phosphoric acid evaporators & reactors

Chlor-alkali processing equipment (electrolysis cells, piping)

Why Choose Incoloy 825?

Outperforms stainless steel 316L in hot sulfuric acid environments

Resists halogen and acidic corrosion better than most Fe-Ni alloys

2. Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) Systems

Scrubber linings & absorber towers (resists acidic slurry corrosion)

Ductwork & dampers in coal-fired power plants

Chimney & stack components

Performance Benefits:

Withstands chlorides, fluorides, and sulfur compounds

Long service life in wet FGD environments

3. Oil & Gas (Sour Service Applications)

Downhole tubing & casing in H₂S-containing wells

Offshore platform components exposed to seawater

Heat exchangers in refineries

Key Advantage:

Complies with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 for sour service

4. Marine & Pollution Control Equipment

Seawater cooling systems

Wastewater treatment evaporators

Desalination plant components

Why Customers Choose Incoloy 825 Plates?

✔ Unmatched Sulfuric Acid Resistance

Proven performance in up to 40% H₂SO₄ at elevated temperatures

✔ Cost Savings vs. High-Nickel Alloys

30-50% lower cost than Hastelloy C-276 for many applications

✔ Reliable in Harsh Environments

Trusted in chemical plants, FGD scrubbers, and offshore platforms
