Precision Alloy Rod
Product Details
1J50 Magnetic Alloy Bar, also known as Permalloy 1J50, Ni50Fe bar, or Soft Magnetic Alloy Rod, is a precision-engineered nickel-iron alloy with high initial permeability and low coercivity. With a nominal composition of approximately 50% Nickel and the balance Iron, this material is tailored for use in low-frequency magnetic field environments where rapid magnetization and demagnetization are critical.
The bar is silver-gray in color, uniform in surface, and available in customized diameters ranging from 2 mm to 100 mm and lengths up to 3 meters. It is typically delivered in annealed condition to ensure maximum magnetic performance.
High Magnetic Permeability at low magnetizing forces
Low Coercivity and Core Loss
Excellent Thermal Stability after annealing
Easy to Machine and form into magnetic parts
Uniform Microstructure for consistent magnetic behavior
1J50 bars are produced through vacuum melting, hot forging, cold drawing, and precision annealing. The final step typically involves hydrogen or inert atmosphere annealing at temperatures around 1100°C to achieve optimized grain structure and magnetic properties. The bars can be processed into rings, cores, laminations, or sensor components.
The high permeability of 1J50 arises from its nickel-iron atomic structure, which allows easy domain wall movement under low magnetic field intensity. This makes it an ideal candidate for AC magnetic field response. The magnetic domains align quickly and return to original states with minimal hysteresis, which reduces core loss and improves energy efficiency.
1J50 Bar is extensively used in:
1. Transformer Cores: Especially precision voltage or current transformers for metering equipment
2. Magnetic Shields: For shielding sensitive electronics from low-frequency magnetic interference
3. Magnetic Amplifiers: In aerospace, industrial power supply systems
4. Magnetic Sensors: Used in navigation and positioning systems
5. Relay and Electromagnetic Components: Where fast and repeatable magnetization is required
