  • Oxidation Resistance‌: Forms a dual-layer Cr₂O₃-Al₂O₃ oxide scale with oxidation rates <0.1 g/m²·h at 900°C in air.

  • Carburization Resistance‌: Limits carbon penetration to <0.5 mm after 20,000 hours in hydrocarbon atmospheres (ac₃ <0.3).

  • Thermal Fatigue Resistance‌: Thermal expansion coefficient of 14.5 μm/m·°C (20–600°C) minimizes stress during cyclic heating.

  • Phase Stability‌: No sigma-phase formation even after 15,000 hours at 850°C, retaining 25% elongation.

  • Weldability‌: Compatible with TIG and laser welding (AWS A5.14 ERNiCr-3 filler recommended).


3. Technology

  • Dynamic Recrystallization‌: Hot working parameters refine grain boundaries, improving fracture toughness by 15% over cast equivalents.

    • Ethylene cracking furnace tubes, reformer headers, and pyrolysis coil hangers.
